Horsetooth Reservoir Weather

Weather Conditions:

Afternoon and early evening thunderstorms, wind, and changing water conditions can create unsafe conditions for open water activities. Participant safety — along with the safety of our lifeguards, paddlers, and on-water safety team — is our top priority. Therefore, we reserve the right to delay, modify, or cancel an event at any time due to weather, water conditions, or the inability to provide adequate on-water safety coverage.

Storms can move quickly in Colorado and event starts may be delayed up to 45 minutes to allow conditions to improve. Final decisions will be made onsite by the Race Director and safety staff.

Weather at Horsetooth Reservoir can also be very different than it is in Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, etc. Check Green Events social media accounts on event day for real time weather updates from onsite at the venue.

Cancellations/Refunds:

Refunds will not be issued for events cancelled or stopped during the event due to weather or safety conditions. Events cancelled prior to the start time will receive a credit toward a future event date for pre-registered participants.
